Dental implants are a solution to the problem of missing teeth. Having missing teeth can make you feel self conscious about you look and can lead to problems with eating the foods you enjoy, or speaking.
What are dental implants?
A dental implant is an artificial replacement for a tooth root.
It is usually made out of titanium and can replace the root of a tooth when it fails. Your dentist will place them directly into your jawbone, where they provide an artificial root.
What are the options for implant tooth replacement?
Single Tooth Replacement: Can support one, or several, replacement teeth, so you don’t need to have one implant per replacement tooth. Dental Implants can also be used to support a full or partial set of dentures. Crowns or a dental bridge can also be fitted on top, to replace your missing teeth. Your dentist will carefully match the colours to your natural teeth.
Fixed Multiple Tooth Replacement: Like a single tooth replacement, temporary healing caps or abutments can be placed on multiple implants until the healing phase is complete. After the healing period has passsed, permanent abutments are attached to the implants. They can attach to custom-made crowns or bridgework to match your existing teeth.
Removable Implant-Supported Tooth Replacement: If you have all your teeth missing, then 2-6 implants can be used to support a denture. With the new denture it will clip onto the implants making the implant more stable and comfortable for you. It will give you more confidence in wearing a denture and be able to smile again.
We are happy to go through everything with you and if you choose to have dental implants we will arrange to refer you to a specialist surgeon to have them placed. The price will cost from £2,500 per implant.
